Back in the Biggest Little

They say you can never go home. I suppose I've always been one to test assumptions, especially those that apply to others' opinions about where and how to live. Providence wasn't half as hip when I was growing up here, but it had a lot of grit and no lack of character. Guys were still getting whacked up on Federal Hill, and Lupo's was still Lupo's, in all it's wondrous glory. My regular Monday night gig at the Backstreet was the night after Mark Cutler & Emerson Torrey and the night before Tommy Keegan. You could see NRBQ or Roomful of Blues or Rizz or Thom Enright or Rash of Stabbings on any given weekend. The hair was big. Really big.

The food is better now, and the parking more difficult. This "water fire" thing seems to be a thing. I haven't been out to hear much music, but I'm grateful that some of the people who mean the most to me (both on-stage and off) are still in town. I'm looking forward to getting back into it.

So, those of you who know what I do, feel free to lob in suggestions about where to do it and with whom. I'll see you out there.

Booking in Boston and the North Shore

I've just moved to the greater Boston area. For bookings, please e-mail me: The BEST way to get the cd is directly through me. E-mail your order to and I will send it out the next day. HOUSE CONCERTS -- can you host one? I'd love to do more of these intimate events. Please be in touch if you're interested in booking. Cheers, Dave
